About Sarah Montiel, FNP-C

Sarah Montiel, FNP-C is a family nurse practitioner serving patients at Primary Care Walk-In Medical Clinic in Fountain Hills, Arizona.

Sarah began her nursing career at Western Technical College, where she earned an associate degree in nursing then bachelor’s degree at Western Governors University. As a registered nurse at Mayo Clinic and Tomah Memorial, she worked in the emergency roomwith trauma center, obstetrical unit, critical care ambulance transfer, nursing administration and private duty home care before transferring to Mayo Clinic, ER Arizona in 2017. She was part of the wound ostomy resource team and has a passion for wounds. She was previously employed as a nurse practitioner in urgent care and field nurse practitioner in management of AHCCCS patients.

She went on to achieve a Master of Science in nursing with a specialty as a family nurse practitioner and graduated with the highest honors. Sarah completed additional training in an urgent care fellowship. She has extensive experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, family practice and wounds.

Sarah prides herself in providing patient centered care with a collaborative patient relationship. She is committed to staying up to date with most current medical recommendations through conferences and other forms of continuing education. She attended the 2024 Pri-Med Conference here in Phoenix that focused on best practice in primary care for a wide variety of diseases.

She is married and has two wonderful children and three grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and being active. Some of her favorite activities include horseback riding, hiking and playing the piano.
